Great opportunity for a time served Assistant Distribution Manager to join a leading independent clothing and lifestyle brand. The successful candidate will provide leadership to support the continued growth of the business.

The role has responsibility of supporting the coordinating and supervising of warehouse activities on a daily basis with the DC Operations Manager. Under the direction of the DC Operations Manager, this position is responsible for supervising the receiving, warehousing and shipping of product to our customers in a manner consistent with company service and cost objectives.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage various operational processes to help drive the business and efficiency with focus on utilizing the warehouse management system, SkuVault, optimizing the functionality and processes to ensure a customer service focus, accuracy of inventory and a satisfied team
  • Driver operational targets for the DC, ensuring performance aligns with these targets
  • Manage distribution picking team
  • Supervises and coordinates unloading of inbound shipments, orderly put away of product and picking/staging of outbound shipments in accordance with the highest possible levels of productivity
  • Work closely with Inventory Control Analyst and Cycle Count team to ensure excellent execution of cycle counts and inventory accuracy allowing for no annual physical inventory process
  • Coordinates and verifies required inbound/outbound paperwork Inventory
  • Ensures efficient and safe operation of all product handling
  • Work with DC Operations Manager to establish work schedules, labor needs, hiring of team members to ensure correct implementation of distribution center responsibilities
  • Maintains a clean, neat and orderly warehouse
  • Maintains the security of the warehouse
  • Conducts operations in a manner which promotes safety

Job Related & Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to lift and/or pull 50 lbs. without restriction
  • Must be able to work in varying facility conditions

Minimum Educational Level / Minimum Experience

  • 4-5 years of previous experience in Distribution Center supervising inbound and outbound flow of merchandise in retail and e-commerce distribution environment
  • Previous distribution center experience within wholesale, retail, and e-commerce environment preferred

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Ability to drive initiatives and accept accountability for leading teams, projects and quality of deliverables
  • Must be able to think objectively and interpret meaningful themes from quantitative and qualitative data
  • Must have aptitude to learn technical applications quickly
  • Able to build constructive and effective relationships with a broad and diverse group of partners, cares about relationships and providing an energizing work environment
  • Possess strong organizational and time management skills
  • Demonstrate strong listening, written and oral communication skills
