Derive requirements, select components and perform schematic design
Utilize development boards and/or breadboards to prove out circuit designs
Work with mechanical engineers to develop mechanical aspects of products
Oversee and inspect board layouts
Test circuit boards and electronic systems to prove functionality, debug as required
Assist in the development of production-level tests
Support transition to production
Perform failure analysis on problem areas and document root cause
Document results of testing and failure analysis
Participate in product design reviews to provide input on functional requirements, product designs, schedules, or potential problems
Assist in creating cost estimates for related activities
Generate white papers, ROMs, and cost estimates in support of business development
Support project and group meetings to include providing updates of project/task progress, issues, mitigation inputs
Required
U.S.Citizenship. Must be willing and able to obtain a security clearance
Bachelor’sdegree in Electrical Engineering, 6+ years’ experience
Ability to generate schematics and circuitboard development
Experience in micro-controller-based designs
Experience in RF systems design
Ability to read and understand datasheets for integrated circuits
Good knowledge of electronic components and test equipment
Understanding of BOM and product configuration practices
Willingness to support business development activities; white papers, BOEs, etc.
Ability to coach and mentor junior engineers
Ability to work in a dynamic environment with cross-functional teams
Effective time management and prioritization skills
Excellent communication and documentation skills
Ability to support multiple projects simultaneously
Works well as a part of a team
Basic skills in Microsoft Office software products
Good problem-solving skills

Experience with tracking and/or communications products
