Key Responsibilities

  • Project management and supervising and coordinating work of contractors
  • Planning building maintenance and operational programs
  • Ensuring the efficiency of all building systems
  • Coordinating site safety programs
  • Preparing operating reports and budgets
  • Maintaining a safe work environment for all employees
  • Ensuring all processes and compliance programs are met
  • Managing facilities planning and space allocation
  • Preparing cost estimates for moves and equipment
  • Coordinating with department heads and building contractors
  • Ensuring all utility systems are inspected and in accordance with regulations
  • Negotiating bids and contracts for third party workers
  • Coordinating building security and maintenance services
  • Overseeing all building functions
  • Coordinating all maintenance issues and schedules
  • Preparing and filing reports with government and regulatory authorities including environmental permitting
  • Investigating availability and suitability of options for re-organizing current premises
  • Managing and leading change to ensure minimum disruption to core activities
  • Directing, coordinating and planning essential central services such as maintenance, cleaning, waste disposal, and recycling
  • Ensuring the building meets health and safety requirements and that facilities comply with legislation
  • Planning best allocation and utilization of space and resources for re-organizing current premises
  • Checking that agreed work by staff or contractors has been completed satisfactorily and following up on any deficiencies
  • Using performance management techniques to monitor and demonstrate achievement of agreed service levels and to lead on improvement
  • Responding appropriately to emergencies or urgent issues as they arise

Skills Knowledge and Expertise

  • Previous experience in maintenance supervision or related field
  • Managing and supervising maintenance personnel
  • Experience with using software on manufacturing equipment preferred
  • Frequent climbing, bending, lifting, kneeling, stooping, and working/extending overhead
  • Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
  • Good understanding of electrical, plumbing, HVAC and other systems
  • Must be able to operate forklift, scissors and boom lifts up to 40 feet in height
  • Be able to understand and read schematics
  • Be able to have programmable logic and understand electrical circuits
