The IT Manager is responsible for directing and coordinating the ongoing support and management of IT systems and infrastructure for the Company and is responsible for analyzing and directing all IT-related activities of the organization with supervisory responsibilities for all staff assigned to the IT department
This position is accountable for ensuring continuity of computer services for users throughout the organization through planning, technical leadership, and project coordination and execution
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Determine the goals of IT within broad outlines provided by executive management
Analyze business needs and recommend technical solutions with completion timelines
Maintain organization’s effectiveness and efficiency by defining, designing, delivering, and supporting strategic plans
Direct research in emerging technologies by studying organizational goals, strategies, practices, and user projects
Project management of all IT initiatives, adhering to published timelines
Preserve assets by implementing disaster recovery, backup procedures, failover planning, information security, and control structures
Regularly execute failover test drills to ensure the integrity of the system
Recommend information technology strategies, policies, and procedures by evaluating organizational outcomes, identifying problems, and anticipating organizational needs and requirements
Accomplish financial objectives by forecasting requirements, preparing the annual budget, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective action
Maintain appropriate network stability, levels of hardware and peripheral components along with essential software packages
Oversee the administration of all IT maintenance, troubleshooting, project activities
Evaluate and oversee maintenance of all corporate software and licensing
Evaluate hardware and software options and maintain vendor contracts
Contribute to the continuity of computer services by providing necessary technical leadership and project management
Identify and implement policies and procedures that more effectively utilize IT resources
Ability to lead team, allocate resources and set priorities, and develop talent
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field and 7+ years’ experience in IT; or a combination of education and experience
3+ years managerial experience
Experience in the manufacturing and/or distribution industries required
Broad understanding of both management and technical problems and solutions with the ability to implement most advanced solutions
Comprehensive information technology and management skills
Strong problem-solving and multitasking skills
Access VBA programming skills preferred
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to lift 30 pounds on a regular basis and lift/move 50 lbs. occasionally
