CAD Drafter

Location : Cerritos, CA

Summary

This person will work closely with our design team to ensure accuracy and completeness of the CAD drawings and models. You will also collaborate with colleagues to create and analyze Bills of Materials, ensuring that equipment and system designs and drawings are delivered accurately and within the scheduled timeframe. In addition, you will be responsible for ensuring that all designs meet company and industry standards for quality and safety.

Seeking someone with a minimum of 2 years of experience as a CAD Drafter in the manufacturing industry, with sheet metal experience being beneficial. Three years’ experience using SolidWorks is also required. The ideal candidate will be fluent in written and verbal English, able to read and interpret documents, and respond effectively to inquiries from others, including managers, coworkers, customers, and vendors.

In addition to your technical skills, we are looking for someone who is a creative problem solver with the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. You should be able to interpret and follow technical instructions, and have experience using Microsoft Windows, Excel, Word, and Outlook, as well as SolidWorks and an ERP system.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Take on the ownership in the creation and modification of 3D model designs using Solidworks software.
• Own the path of communication to the fabrication team by developing build to print schematics with clear building instructions.
• Support the documentation of fixtures and electrical interconnect diagrams for our integration teams.
• Ensure that equipment and system designs and drawings are delivered accurately with the required quality and in the timeframe scheduled.
• Work with colleagues to create, update and analyze Bills of Materials, with support from Engineering team to the production floor.
• Collaborate with our manufacturing and design engineering teams to update our processes for greater accuracy and completeness of the CAD drawings and models.
• Review and analyze specifications, sketches, drawings, and other data to develop and design kiosk structures and components to meet company and industry standards for quality and safety.
• Able to create work instructions with data extracted from CAD data as requested.
• Creation of model library as time warrants.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

The following knowledge, skills, and abilities are required for this position:

Education and Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a CAD Drafter in manufacturing industry.
• Sheet Metal experience would be beneficial.
• Three years’ experience using SolidWorks

Language Skills

• Fluent in written and verbal English
• Able to read and interpret documents
• Able to respond effectively to inquiries from others, including managers, coworkers, customers, and vendors
