Salary : $100,000 — $120,000


The Director of Engineering & Quality is responsible for managing, coaching, tracking, reporting and leading a highly skilled team responsible for designing and implementing common Solutions processes related to driving continuous performance improvement across all Solution’s facilities within geographic area of responsibility.

This includes:

  • Implementation of current business projects required to expand business or correct current issues with poorly performing operations
  • Responsible for maintaining engineering metrics that will meet or exceed performance goals
  • Responsible to direct, develop and mentor the team to build engineering competency and grow talent
  • Responsibility to support operations in order to meet budgeted operating profits and cost reduction objectives


  • Responsible for providing engineering support in a dynamic manufacturing environment and further helping maintain the department as a first-class operation
  • Track all projects and provide communication and guidance to the Engineering team
  • Determine and enlist resources required to support targeted changes in support of projects including engineering, Operations, Quality, etc.
  • Interpret blueprints, industry standards and customer requirements to design manufacturing tooling and fixtures, develop processes, create manufacturing blue prints, 1:1 scale prints, and other supplementary manufacturing data
  • Analyze workflow including inbound, put away, replenishment, picking, packing, shipping and VAS processes to ensure accuracy and ability to execute
  • Ensures all distribution system functionality is configured to optimize performance (e.g., WMS, LMS)
  • Thoroughly understand blueprints, part configurations, and other aspects of engineering drawings

  • Analyzes contractual commitments, customer specifications, design changes and other data to develop improved solutions for operation
  • Performs special research or technical studies critical to logistic support functions
  • Performs cost/benefit tradeoff analysis and develop ROI business cases for recommended projects involving process, system, or technology change
  • Develops logistics engineering strategies with the management team
  • Participation in “Advance Quality Planning” sessions with new clients validating requirements and processes

Minimum Qualification and Experience Requirement

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in engineering or related technical discipline
  • Minimum 5 years experience and demonstrated proficiency using a Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) system, SolidWorks or Pro/Engineer preferred
  • Manufacturing experience is a plus
  • Ability to drive a project to completion, including production planning, work instructions, and process development
  • Experience with CNC machining, tooling, and Fixture design is desired
  • Ability to solve complex technical problems in a collaborative environment
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations to solve problems utilizing knowledge of algebraic and geometric principles
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of GD and T is a plus
  • Ability to learn new skills and software applications
  • Thorough knowledge of mechanical inspection and measurement equipment

  • Welding machines: TIG (AC/DC) and MIG welders.
  • Bending machines: Hand benders, hydraulic benders and CNC benders.
  • End forming machines: Flaring, double flaring, beading, facing, expanding and swedging machines.
  • Machine shop equipment: Mill, Lathe and Drill Press.
  • Cutting: Chop saw, abrasive wheel saw and cold saw.
  • Deburring: Belt sander and countersink.
  • Brazing: Oxy-Aceteline torches and induction brazing machines.
  • CMM measurement
  • X-ray and Penetrant


  • Interact with organizational team members and other departments in a professional manner
  • Assists in formulating strategic plans
  • Perform other duties as assigned


Manufacturing environment: may be exposed to loud noises, unique smells, changing temperatures, machinery with moving parts and other dangers associated with manufacturing (cutting, deburring, etc.). The company has safety equipment and safety standards in place to help maintain a safe work environment.
