POSITION PURPOSE

The responsibility of the Information Systems Project Director is to guide the company identifying the best portfolio of technology projects to drive continuous improvement. Straddling the line between IT, Finance and the business, this role will assist with the KPI’s and reports necessary to drive data analytics and deliver data-driven recommendations to executives and stakeholders. Engaging with business leaders and users to understand how changes to processes, products, services, software or hardware can improve efficiencies and add value. Always balancing ideas against what’s technologically feasible, and both financially and functionally reasonable.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead biweekly meeting with senior company officials to discuss project ideas, prioritizations and progress through the 1st Stage Gate of Ideas & 2nd Stage Gate of Definition (scope document approvals, requirement document approvals, and design approvals) to keep the portfolio of projects moving
  • Define scope and objectives and help formulate systems to parallel overall business strategies
  • Identify inefficiencies and waste in business processes and proposes improvements to management
  • Work with Development Leaders to review requirements & develop design
  • Create with Development Leaders a structure for the development of the project with assigned resources in 3rd Stage Gate of Build
  • Hold weekly meetings with Development to ensure project and individual responsibilities of team members are being met and are up to date in Monday.com (Project Management Tool)
  • Work with the Business Analysts and Testers in the various departments to ensure proper testing, UAT and training are taking place in the 4th Stage Gate Test & Training and are updated in Monday.com & weekly meeting
  • Delegating tasks to team members to keep the project on schedule, using knowledge of individual skills to best use each employee
  • Coordinating with other teams and departments to ensure the integration of efforts to complete the project
  • Monitoring progress on a project and making adjustments as needed to meet project goals
  • Advising employees on tasks to help them complete their activities more efficiently
  • Attend weekly Change Management meetings with Department Heads, to approve projects ready to move to the 5th Stage Gate Launch or “go live”.
  • Assessing performance metrics at the completion of the project to identify areas for improvement and elements that worked well for future projects
  • Develop with the business, maintain and track key performance indicators & dashboards, business intelligence and key reports
  • Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • 4 year degree in a business, finance or IT related field
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale), 3.5 is desired
  • 5+ years related experience (manufacturing environment is a plus)
  • Strong technology, analytical and communication skills
  • Comfortable participating in Big Picture (strategic) planning as well as, detailed analysis and planning
  • Demonstrated experience working with senior decision makers
  • Experience building relationships in team environments
  • Strong Facilitation Skills
  • Proven Project Management Skills including tracking and management of project budgets
  • Strong Change Management & Process Improvement Experience
  • Detail oriented, analytical and inquisitive, with sharp problem-solving skills
  • Extremely organized with strong time-management skills
  • Demonstrated Risk Assessment & Risk Mitigation skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, MS O365 and Teams
  • Business analytics tools MS Power BI & SQL preferred
  • Experience with MS .NET development a plus
  • MS Dynamics ERP experience a plus
