General Functions and Scope

The I.T. Administrator drives technical solutions that enable employees to provide the best overall solutions to the Company’s customers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Ensure proper configuration, administration, maintenance, testing, security, reliability and documentation of:

  • IT Cloud/Infrastructure: Optimize IT Cloud Services, Onsite Infrastructure (Servers, Routers, Switches, 802.1x, LAN, VLAN, WAN), and Onsite Services (AD, DNS, RDG, RDS, IIS, NPS, Network Monitoring, HA/DR/Backup and Security Solutions) for best performance, security and reliability
  • High Availability, Backup and Disaster Recovery: Ensure proper configuration, usability and regular testing of HA/DR/Backup of both cloud services and onsite systems
  • Device Administration/Security: Configure, manage, support and secure PCs (Windows/Mac/Linux), Mobile Devices (Phones, Tablets), Printers/Scanners, VOIP Phones, and other devices or electronic equipment
  • User Administration/Security: Perform User Setup, User On/Off Boarding, Adds/Changes, and Terminations, according to IT Access Requests and in a timely manner
  • IT Compliance/Security: Ensure compliance of all systems with IT industry governance standards, including; NIST, COBIT, SOX, and ISO, etc., ensuring robust information security for all stakeholders
  • Helpdesk Administration: Provide efficient and timely support for end-users in a variety of applications including; Business Software (ERP/CRM/PLM/CPM), Microsoft Office 365 and ancillary applications, across multiple offices, home users and time zones

Additional Responsibilities

  • Accomplishes IT and organization mission by completing projects and tasks as assigned
  • Able to work under pressure, manage multiple deadlines and respond to demands with diplomacy and tact, informing requesters when deadlines need adjustment, while being diligent, detail oriented, and self-motivated
  • Provides IT reference materials and user training by documents, presentations, diagrams/flow charts, or video
  • Document problems by conferring with employees, while also evaluating procedures, processes, and translating user requirements into specifications
  • Perform changes and validate results through detailed testing and user feedback
  • Maps and documents interfaces between legacy and new systems
  • Works closely with colleagues to ensure technical compatibility and user satisfaction
  • Manage user requests, ensuring operation by training personnel and providing support
  • Remains “on-call” during off-peak hours in case of rare business-critical issues
  • Keeps current with Technology, by reading professional publications, following channels, industry news, trends and updating job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications/Knowledge Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in I.T. or related field preferred or combination of equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of 2-5 years prior job experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server/Azure/Office 365 stacks, services and tools (AD, GP, DHCP, DNS, RRAS, NPS, RDS, RDG, IIS), and light scripting (vbs)
  • Strong knowledge of integration of Cloud Services and Cloud Technologies
  • Strong knowledge of Virtualization Technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, Citrix)
  • Proficiency in networking technologies (IP Routing, VLANs, VPN, IDS/IPS)
  • Ability to support PC (Windows, Mac, Linux), Printers, Phones (VOIP, Digital, Analog) and Mobile Platforms (Android, iOS) and troubleshoot equipment or application problems
  • Knowledge/use of various IT administration and security tools
  • SharePoint, Access/VBA, PowerApps knowledge a plus, but not required
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees and write routine correspondence
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions, and procedures
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure—using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent; and to interpret graphs
  • Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving few concrete variables in standardized situations
  • Ability to use database, Internet, spreadsheet, and word processing software
  • Ability to lift 30 pounds on a regular basis and lift/move 50 pounds occasionally

Travel Requirements

Occasional business travel to other Company sites is required.
