Manufacturing Engineer II

Location : Torrance, CA

Salary : $100,000 — $120,000

JOB SUMMARY

Provides engineering support in a dynamic manufacturing environment. Draws on past experience and engineering knowledge to resolve technical problems related to production. Interprets blue prints, industry standards, and customer requirements to design manufacturing tooling and fixtures, develop processes, create manufacturing blue prints, 1:1 scale print, and other supplementary manufacturing data. Performs other administrative support functions as needed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Assist in creating a work environment that effectively engages all associates at all levels to continuously improve the company processes and QMS
• Assists in resolving Company process issues
• Communicate customer requirements to Company personnel
• Perform Level II Inspections
• Thoroughly understand blueprints, part configurations, and other aspects of engineering drawings
• OPD Procedure (V4 3080059)
• Solve complex technical problems in a collaborative environment
• Perform mathematical calculations to solve problems utilizing knowledge of algebraic and geometric principles
• Drive a project to completion, including production planning, work instructions, and process development
• Maintain skills in project management
• Maintain knowledge of mechanical inspection and measurement equipment
• Develop work instructions
• Assist in resolving customer technical and application problems as related to company’s focus and capabilities
• Arrive to work, meetings, appointments, and other work-related functions on time and as

scheduled

• Follow procedures and use common sense to maintain a safe working environment
• Ability to work with limited supervision
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace
• Meet goals and objectives in a timely manner
• Perform other duties and tasks as assigned
• Maintain a professional relationship with customers and suppliers

PERIPHERAL DUTIES

• Interact with organizational team members and other departments in a professional manner
• Assists in formulating strategic plans
• Assist the quality and engineering employees in their duties as needed

Minimum Qualification and Experience Requirement

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in engineering or related technical discipline. Or. High School Diploma or GED with minimum 4 years related experience
• Minimum 1 year experience and demonstrated proficiency using a Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) system, SolidWorks or Pro/Engineer preferred
• Manufacturing experience is a plus
• Experience with CNC machining, tooling, and Fixture design is desired
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge of GD and T is a plus
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Ability to learn new skills and software applications

EQUIPIMENT/MACHINERY USED IN FACILITY

• Welding machines: TIG (AC/DC) and MIG welders
• Bending machines Hand benders, hydraulic benders and CNC benders
• End forming machines: Flaring, double flaring. beading, facing. expanding and swedging machines
• Machine shop equipment: Mill, Lathe and Drill Press
• Cutting: Chop saw, abrasive wheel saw and cold saw
• Deburring: Belt sander and countersink
• Brazing: Oxy-Aceteline torches and induction brazing machines
