Seeking a Senior Industrial Engineer to develop, test, and evaluate integrated systems for managing industrial production processes, including human work factors, quality control, inventory control, logistics and material flow, cost analysis, and production coordination. This position will coach and train others on Lean tools such as Value Stream Mapping, 5S, Standard Work, Pull Systems, Set Up reduction, etc. The Industrial Engineer will need to possess excellent project management and communication skills. Must be able to interface with individuals at all levels of the organization and build consensus for improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement, cost reduction, lead time reduction, and yield improvements
  • Plan, facilitate and execute continuous improvement events as well as lead long term projects
  • Teach, lead and couch cross-functional teams on Lean best practices and Six Sigma methodology
  • Work to continuously improve processes both on the production floor as well as transactional business process flows by collaborating with multiple functions
  • Partner with local CI resources at each site to assist in the deployment of the Company’s Operating System (KOS) and meet annual strategic objectives
  • Estimate production costs, cost saving methods, and the effects of product design changes on expenditures for management review, action, and control
  • Plan and establish sequence of operations to fabricate and assemble parts or products and to promote efficient utilization
  • Develop manufacturing methods, labor utilization standards, and cost analysis systems to promote efficient staff and facility utilization
  • Study operations sequence, material flow, functional statements, organization charts, and project information to determine worker functions and responsibilities
  • Willingness to travel up to 20%- East Coast focus
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Skills Knowledge and Expertise

  • Minimum 8-15 years’ experience in Continuous Improvement or Industrial Engineering role
  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant engineering field- Industrial, Mechanical, or Electronics preferred
  • Experience leading and managing projects
  • Experience leading and managing other engineers and engineering technicians
  • Experience with PWB and/or electrical component manufacturing
  • Experience Value Stream Mapping and/or with process Flow Diagrams
  • Experience with Toyota Production System, Lean, and/or Six Sigma methodologies
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Suite including advanced skills with Microsoft Excel
  • Demonstrated ability to work in high pace, changing environment
  • Merger and acquisition exposure desirable
  • Experience with interpretation of customer SCDs, AutoCAD drawings, and applicable MIL-STDs
