Senior Network Engineer (Remote)

Location : Charlotte, NC

Salary : $137,800 — $160,000

Bonus : 15%

JOB SUMMARY

The Senior Network Engineer will be responsible of developing, implementing, maintaining and supporting our corporate network and Data Center. Company provides connectivity and services to 100 sites worldwide utilizing Cisco and VeloCloud based architecture, with a network security infrastructure built upon industry-leading solutions such as Palo Alto, F5, and Cisco ISE.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design, plan and maintain a cost effective, reliable and secure corporate network.
• Recommend and implement WAN/LAN/DC concepts with a strong focus on network security in coordination with the team.
• Take ownership of new projects throughout their lifecycle, from initial evaluation to configuration and final implementation, ensuring successful completion and delivery.
• Implement and maintain Zero Trust network security measures to establish a robust security posture, minimize the attack surface, and mitigate the risk of unauthorized access
• Proactive monitoring of performance and ensure system availability, reliability and capacity planning.
• Identify and troubleshoot network problems.
• Perform network assessments and recommend improvements to optimize network performance.
• Conduct thorough evaluations and make informed decisions regarding the selection and adoption of new technologies.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive network documentation, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records of network configurations, diagrams, and procedures.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience in the field of computing or computer science or a related field.
• Cisco expertise – CCNP certification or equivalent level.
• 7+ years of recent network engineering expertise supporting an enterprise environment
• 5+ years’ experience on:
• WAN:
• SD-WAN
• Advanced BGP
• DMVPN
• Quality of Service (QoS)

• Security:
• Palo Alto advanced knowledge (Global infrastructure management, Panorama, Distributed User-ID, advanced Global Protect configuration)
• F5 configuration, troubleshooting and maintenance
• Cisco ISE distributed deployment (Wireless 802.1x, Wired 802.1x, Guest, IoT, TACACS+)
• Cisco ASA (with routed-VPN implementation and troubleshooting)
• Proficiency with zero trust frameworks and their implementation
• PKI Knowledge
• Wireless:
• Cisco WLC
• 802.1x and MAB
• Distributed Flexconnect deployments
• Datacenter:
• Nexus
• VMware vSphere knowledge
• Cloud:
• AWS
• Azure
• Demonstrated experience in all phases of the design, configuration, installation, and administration of large-scale networks.
• Strong security experience with firewall technologies, installation, maintenance and support.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
