General Description
Responsible for leading and overseeing complex cryogenic projects from inception to successful completion. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring project delivery on time, within scope, and on budget while maintaining the highest quality standards. This position will support and encourage the strong culture the Company has built. While reporting to the Director of Sales, this position will also collaborate with the leadership and internal team consisting of expeditors, estimators, project managers, project engineers, and external stakeholders to support the growth and success of the company by developing and executing business plans and budgets, and be accountable for achieving operational and financial targets.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Strategy and Planning:
- Develop and implement the operational strategy aligned with the company’s goals and objectives
- Collaborate with the executive team to establish performance metrics
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction
Resource Management:
- Manage and allocate resources effectively to ensure optimal utilization and productivity
- Oversee capacity planning, production scheduling, and inventory management
- Collaborate with procurement and supply chain teams to maintain a reliable and efficient supply chain
- Manage outsourced/sub-contracted manufacturers
Process Improvement (Lean):
- Analyze existing processes, identify areas for improvement, and implement best practices
- Establish and monitor key quality metrics and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and reduce waste
Team Leadership and Development:
- Build and lead a high-performing operations team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and innovation
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and professional development opportunities to team members
- Foster a positive and inclusive work environment that promotes employee engagement and satisfaction
Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
- Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track operational performance
- Regularly analyze operational data, identify trends, and implement corrective actions as needed
- Prepare and present performance reports to senior management, highlighting areas of success and improvement
Required Technical Experience
- Ability to interact and understand the company ERP system (NetSuite)
- Generating and maintaining multiple project schedules
- Ability to read and decipher industry, codes, and regulations
- Manage resources and be a key decision maker in resource loading decisions

Work Activities
- Operational Efficiency: Measure the efficiency of operational processes, such as production cycle time, equipment utilization, and labor productivity
- Cost Management: Monitor and optimize operational costs, including cost per unit, overhead expenses, and supply chain costs
- Quality Performance: Assess the quality of products or services through metrics such as customer satisfaction, defect rates, and adherence to quality standards
- On-time Delivery: Track the percentage of orders or projects delivered on time and meet customer expectations
- Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels, turnover rate, and accuracy of inventory records to ensure optimal inventory management
- Safety and Compliance: Measure adherence to safety protocols and compliance with regulatory requirements to maintain a safe working environment
- Customer Service: Evaluate customer satisfaction metrics, such as response time, resolution rate, and customer feedback, to ensure exceptional service delivery
- Team Performance: Assess the performance and engagement of the operations team through metrics like employee satisfaction, turnover rate, and training and development initiatives
- Provide Manufacturing and Engineering leadership in support and alignment with company goals and initiatives
- Understand company and business priorities and assure the proper resources and assets are available to support each initiative
- Responsible for establishing goals, metrics, and action plans to achieve manufacturing results in support of overall company profitability and growth. Delivering these goals
- Provide leadership and coordination to significantly improve operating results
- Provide support for intermediate and long-term plant capacity planning and execution in alignment with/in anticipation of company growth
- Ensure strong Manufacturing representation on one or more of the Management Teams
- Develop and maintain strong alignment with significant cross functional initiatives including but not limited to quality systems improvements, growth plans, cost reduction, organizational development, and external benchmarking. Lead cross functional teams in support of significant initiatives as appropriate
- Serve as a positive change agent within the organization and a role model of the Company’s core values

Education & Work Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in operations management, business administration or related field OR at least 10 years’ experience working in operations and 3 to 5 years in a people management role
Special Requirement
- May be required to work weekends and holidays as business necessitates; schedules will be determined by management with at least 48 hours advance notice
Work Environment
- Normal office environment with frequent excursions to material, manufacturing, and testing
- 10% Travel Required

- Includes exposure to sounds and noise levels that are distracting or uncomfortable
- Requires working in very hot (above 90 F degrees) or very cold (below 32 F degrees) temperatures
