The Position

The VP, Ceramic Capacitors Business Unit will have responsibility to drive revenue and gross margin growth for a $100M business serving the defense, aerospace, and industrial and Electric Vehicle markets. The VP will refine and execute the growth strategy through a team consisting of product line managers, product marketers, applications engineers, with the collaborative support of Company sales, R&D, finance and operations organizations. Working with the tight knit senior management team, the VP will assess market opportunities, the competitive landscape and develop the overall product vision to best utilize company resources to achieve near term financial goals while establishing a competitive advantage within Company’s target markets.

Additional responsibilities for this position include:

  • Develop product value proposition and messaging to differentiate the products; develop a marketing strategy to enhance brand value and industry recognition.
  • Manage the physical marketing of the Ceramic Capacitor products (Multilayer, Hi Reliability Multilayer, and Trimmer Capacitors) through trade shows, white papers, and digital media.
  • Manage the ceramic capacitor multigenerational product plan (MGPP) to develop 3-year plans for new technologies, new products, potential partnerships, and potential acquisitions to achieve portfolio goals.
  • Work closely with the ceramic R&D team to develop competitive advantage through new ceramic materials.
  • Managing product line life cycle and strategy: new product launches, growth, maturity and end of life phases.
  • Manage and monitor pricing plans and price achievement, and work with engineering and manufacturing partners to monitor product cost for ceramic capacitor products to ensure achievement of targeted gross margin levels.
  • Represent the Ceramic Caps team in acquisition due diligence and product line integration.
  • Work with sales leaders to execute customer growth plans and to support customer growth via applications engineering.
  • Partner with operations leaders on CAPEX planning, driving product fulfillment and solving customers’ issues.
  • Engage with program managers, development engineers, research scientists and advanced manufacturing engineers to drive meaningful innovation and the sharing of product and customer information and market insights.
  • Collect market intelligence on key customer road maps, portfolios, strengths, and weaknesses.

The Person

The VP, Ceramic Capacitors Business Unit must have exceptional communication skills. This person will be responsible for not only developing the product strategy and vision for the organization but also communicating and presenting that strategy throughout the Company, from the line operator to the Board of Directors. This person is collaborative, apolitical, and motivated by challenge.

  • Agile and resourceful – can drive overlapping projects to completion and acts creatively to solve problems where ideal tools or processes may not exist.
  • Informed and focused enthusiasm with strong virtual management, PC and presentation skills.

Requirements

Requirements for the role also include:

  • Familiarity with the electronic ecosystem for Medical, Defense, Industrial and Electric Vehicles
  • Experience in electronic product sales and marketing leadership in the passive components
  • Strong track record of successfully managing a team and driving collaboration across functions to achieve project completion.
  • Experience with design or application engineering in electronics is a plus.
  • Experience with M&A integration a plus

Education

Technical degree (EE, ME, or physics) preferred. MBA preferred.
