Job Summary

The Logistics Project Manager will be interacting and managing customers who are the global leaders in the e-commerce, retail distribution, parcel delivery and airport baggage handling market segments. Engaging within the pre-sales phase of potential project lifecycle’s, you’ll be responsible to prepare accurately, assess risks and subsequently deliver the hottest technology in this market, ensuring we meet customer expectations for quality, delivery and service, while delivering Company high standards for growth and profitability.  To achieve this, you’ll lead a cross-functional team of sales, operations, engineering and service personnel throughout the execution phase of the project.

Essential Functions

  • Lead assigned customer projects achieving customer expectations for quality and delivery by continually aligning the customer requirements with all internal stakeholders (sales, project pursuit, order administration, logistics engineering, operations, logistics services)
  • Achieve project profitability targets by executing a structured project planning and execution methodology that includes managing scope, risk mitigation and thoughtful resource planning and execution. Utilizing PMI standards of project management
  • Ensure timely communications with the customer on project status, as well as updates to all internal stakeholders
  • Support revenue and profitability planning and management by providing regular estimates for project revenue, profitability and timing.  Drive timely project closure and coordinate with finance on revenue recognition per established guidelines
  • Drive continuous improvement in the quotation and delivery process through thoughtful post-project reviews with clear and timely actions
  • Travel to sites as needed, to perform the tasks as described for this position. Extended travel periods may be required during the commissioning and acceptance phase of each project.

  • Able to rapidly learn new technology and understand new markets
  • Experience with, or familiar with PMI project management standards, possessing a desire to achieve project management qualifications
  • Available to travel 30%

Minimum education and work experience required

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent relevant experience, Project Management, Engineering, or business is desired
  • 3 years’ experience as a project manager within the automated materials handling industry or for projects in a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Relevant Professional and Industry specific certifications (PMP, CSCP, etc.) are a plus
  • Experience in the materials handling industry a significant plus
