Planning is responsible for creating job travelers
The goal of the planner shall be to create a step by step “recipe” for manufacturing a part or assembly
Planning must be able to determine proper material callout, materials list, operation sequence, outside processes and outside processors based on PO and drawing requirements
Additional duties include maintaining various logs, creating & reviewing documents and customer service
Planning is also responsible for performing some of the various tasks associated with manufacturing, understanding work orders, verbal instructions and the various requirements set forth by Company and its Quality Management System
Essential Duties And Responsibilities (Other Duties May Be Assigned)
Accurately plan jobs in a timely manor
Take extra care to communicate special requirements to shop personnel
Effectively communicate with purchasing and contract review personnel
Update estimating with part notes and data when job travelers are complete
Meet goals and objectives in a timely manner
Maintain a clean and organized workspace
Follow procedures and use common sense to maintain a safe working environment
Arrives to work, meetings, appointments, and other work-related functions on time and as scheduled
Ability to perform multiple tasks accurately and efficiently
Perform various other tasks as assigned
Equipment/ Machinery Used
Welding machines: TIG (AC/DC) and MIG welders
Bending machines: Hand benders, hydraulic benders and CNC benders
End forming machines: Flaring, double flaring, beading, facing, expanding and swedging machines
Machine shop equipment: Mill, Lathe and Drill Press
Cutting: Chop saw, abrasive wheel saw and cold saw
Deburring: Belt sander and countersink
Brazing: Oxy-Aceteline torches and induction brazing machines
