The Plant Manager position is the key driver for continuous improvement and optimization of all plant process. Tasks and Responsibilities
Plan, organize, direct, and run optimum day-to-day operations to exceed our customers’ expectations
Plan, organize, direct, and regulate the production and maintenance operations guaranteeing return on capital and exceeding customers’ expectations
Develops all Capital Budget Plans, SIOP, and GDP processes that are in alignment with corporate business objectives
Assists and leads the deployment of the corporate Operating System
Ensure financial targets are met or exceeded
Partner with all other disciplines within the organization
Increase production, assets capacity, and flexibility while minimizing waste and maintaining current quality standards
Responsible for safety, production output, product quality, and on-time shipping
Engage in strong collaboration with the global operations team creating a culture of synergy among all departments within the division
Keep the budget under control and assist in developing annual business plan
Allocate resources effectively and fully utilize assets to produce optimal results
Implement strategies and actions for the accomplishment of plant production goals
Provide the workforce with a clear sense of direction and focus
Monitor operations and trigger corrective actions
Share a trusting relationship with workgroup and recruit, manage and develop plant staff
Responsible for selecting, training and motivating plant staff and effectively use manpower to enhance capital utilization within every department
Collect and analyze data to find places of waste or overtime
Commit to plant safety procedures
Develop systems and processes that track and optimize productivity and standards, metrics and performance targets to ensure effective return on assets
Address employees’ issues or grievances
Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Operations Management and/or a minimum 8-10 years progressive work experience an operation manager or plant manager role
Experience with Ceramic Manufacturing in a low volume high mix environment
Post Graduate degree preferred but will substitute for experience
Certification as a Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt
Lean Experience with demonstrated comprehensive project portfolio
Knowledgeable of hazardous chemical and water treatment environments
Working knowledge of Federal and State Safety and Environmental Regulations
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint and ability to learn other job related programs and software
Excellent Interpersonal skills
Detail oriented individual able to independently, multi-task and prioritize work
