Job Overview

The Regional Operations Manager position is the key driver for continuous improvement and optimization of all plant processes.  A successful candidate will have the knowledge, skills, and demonstrated ability to develop processes that maximize safety, quality, resources and productivity.  Our culture desires the encouragement of the use of new techniques and fact based problem solving.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, direct and run optimum day-to-day operations to exceed our customers’ expectations
  • Plan, organize, direct, and regulate the production and maintenance operations guaranteeing return on capital and exceeding customers’ expectations
  • Ensure financial targets are met or exceeded
  • Increase production, assets capacity and flexibility while minimizing waste and maintaining current quality standards
  • Responsible for safety, production output, product quality and on-time shipping
  • Keep the budget under control and assist in developing annual business plan
  • Allocate resources effectively and fully utilize assets to produce optimal results
  • Implement strategies and actions for the accomplishment of plant production goals
  • Provide the workforce with a clear sense of direction and focus
  • Monitor operations and trigger corrective actions
  • Share a trusting relationship with workgroup and recruit, manage and develop plant staff
  • Responsible for selecting, training and motivating plant staff and effectively use manpower to enhance capital utilization within every department
  • Collect and analyze data to find places of waste or overtime
  • Commit to plant safety procedures
  • Develop systems and processes that track and optimize productivity and standards, metrics and performance targets to ensure effective return on assets
  • Address employees’ issues or grievances

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Operations Management and/or a minimum 8-10 years progressive work experience an operation manager or plant manager role
  • Post Graduate degree preferred but will substitute for experience
  • Certification as a Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt
  • Knowledgeable of hazardous chemical and water treatment environments
  • Working knowledge of Federal and State Safety and Environmental Regulations
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint and ability to learn other job related programs and software
  • Excellent Interpersonal skills
  • Must be fluent in English and Spanish
  • Detail oriented individual able to independently, multi-task and prioritize work
