Senior Manufacturing
Engineer

Summary

Responsible for the development/refining of manufacturing methods.  This position is responsible for the development and implementation of manufacturing processes that will result in reliable and cost-effective production methods, improved machine capacity and more efficient equipment where resultant product meets customer requirements relative to quality and costs.  This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned)

• Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods
• Analyzes and plans workforce utilization, space requirements, and workflow, and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency
• Confers with planning and design staff concerning product design to ensure efficient production methods
• Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards
• Estimates production times, staffing requirements, and related cost to provide information for management decisions
• Communicates with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production process
• Also, applies statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential

Education and/or Experience

• Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) from four-year College or university; plus four to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Computer Skills

• To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Database software; Design software; Manufacturing software and MS office products
