Summary
A key part of Company’s business is the manufacture of sheet metal components. They are seeking a dynamic and proactive Electrical/Controls Engineer to join a small team that is building equipment to help modernize the facility.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities (Other Duties May Be Assigned)
Undertake the design of electrical and control system for industrial automation machinery
Size and select electrical/controls components
Create manufacturing documentation including electrical schematics
Develop software specifications for industrial machinery
Write, implement, test and document PLC and HMI software
Undertake system testing, tuning and development
Lead/Participate in design reviews internally and with external suppliers and customers
Work on multiple projects simultaneously
Participate in transition from Engineering to Manufacturing and provide necessary support
Support production and sustaining engineering activities as required
Support the development of engineering department
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Controls Systems Engineering (Mechanical engineering degree considered with relevant experience)
Minimum of 5 years of electrical/controls design experience including industrial or automation machinery
Strong fundamental knowledge of electrical design, engineering best practices and its application in industrial automation designs
Experience of electrical panel design according to UL & NEC Code
Proficient in electrical CAD schematic design (AutoCAD or preferably Electra E8)
Experience of selecting and sizing mains voltage switch gear, motors, drives and cables
Experience working with PLCs and HMIs (preferably Siemens S7‐1200 and Siemens ComfortPanel)
Experience of programming in Ladder & Structured Text (IEC 61131‐3)
Able to prepare detailed Bill of Materials for electrical cabinets and prepare costings for designs
Strong English communications skills, both written and verbal
Good interpersonal skills; strong relationship building skills
Strong organizational skills; exceptional attention to detail
Knowledge of computers to operative effectively with Microsoft Office Suite of applications
Education, Experience And Certifications
Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Controls Systems Engineering (Mechanical engineering degree considered with relevant experience)
10+ years of electrical/controls design experience
Experience of implementing commutations protocols in PLC systems (Modbus, Profinet)
Experience of electrical cabinet heat load analysis and cooling design
