Position Summary

Reporting to the Vice President of Operations, the Director of Operations. The Director is responsible for daily manufacturing operations as well as longer range planning to advance productivity and capacity to drive efficiency gains and support business growth.

Responsibilities

Guide and develop the site managers to achieve:

  • Develop and deliver Safety, Quality, Delivery (OTTR), Cost ( Gross Margin, Value Creation), Inventory (Net $) AOP targets
  • Lead initiatives to improve On Time to Request (OTTR), and shrink lead time
  • Drive a continuous improvement culture to consistently improve process yields, reduce waste and drive productivity
  • Coordinate with Engineering to ensure smooth transition from design to production of new products
  • Help lead alignment between commercial and operational priorities, especially information flow between customer service and manufacturing
  • Attract, motivate and develop high caliber talent
  • Support best practice sharing
  • Nurture and celebrate KPD values (Model Ownership, Stretch to improve, Develop & Leverage Talent, Project a positive Mindset, Demonstrate Urgency, Be Transparent and Data Driven
  • Engender a culture of accountability with strong KPIs that facilitate focus and accurately monitor performance
  • Translate strategic roadmaps into clear and actionable business plans

Must Haves

  • Demonstrated in-depth execution of lean
  • Demonstrated development of teams and talent / org structure work

Qualifications, Skills, and Knowledge

  • Bachelor’s degree: preferably in a technical discipline with a minimum of 10- 15 years of Manufacturing / Operations
  • Execution-Track record of driving continuous improvement for multiplant operations
  • Strong background in lean / continuous improvement
  • Strategy-Developing, syndicating, implementing Manufacturing strategy, including Capital plan
  • Articulate-Can present with confidence to Knowles leadership, top customer leadership
  • Track record of successful teamwork with – with peers (sales, finance, PLMs, engineering)
  • He/she should bring a background in or familiarity with electrical/ electronic components (and ideally, previous experience with some of the following: RF/Microwave devices, Thin film devices, Capacitors, Mixed signal devices, Multi-function assemblies, Multi-chip modules development or integration
  • Self-starter who will bring a high level of engagement with and enthusiasm for the business
  • Revenue and delivery obsessed
  • Excellent management skills, including the ability to supervise multiple disparate teams and develop talent
