About this position

We are seeking an experienced professional engineer (PE required, SE preferred) to join our team. This role does NOT simply consist of traditional engineering but requires someone to support our executive team and field operations in a variety of ways. The ideal candidate is inquisitive, diligent, motivated and team oriented.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Collaborate on structural designs, then produce a full analysis and calculations
  • Generate correction responses to various municipalities
  • Visit building departments as needed
  • Work intimately with our draftsperson
  • Answer questions/solve issues that come from field
  • At least one site visit per project (currently ~150 per year)
  • Attend all customer follow-up meetings – gather structural and architectural info, identify issues, interact with customers
  • Regular reporting to company owners and executive team
  • Review the way AutoCad is currently being utilized. Change if necessary
  • Ensure that as-builts are created for every job (tracking will likely be via Salesforce)
  • Oversee creation and maintenance of AutoCad library of templates and details
  • Implement version control
  • Implement 3D rendering
  • In addition to “typical engineer responsibilities”, the Vice President of Engineering will be expected to learn about and solve issues within the following areas (TLC will train):
    • Fire sprinklers (fire protection)
    • General Building Codes (windows, lighting, stairs, room dimensions, etc)
    • Areas of the planning codes as implemented by various municipalities
    • Understanding of HOA approvals, ability to assist with solving these issues

About You

  • 5 or more years of experience in engineering and/or construction
  • PE required, SE license is preferred
  • More than “just an engineer”. You’ll work working intimately with everyone from entry level field employees to the executive team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Monday to Friday
